Setting Some Goals

Habakkuk 2 (The Message)

1 What's God going to say to my questions? I'm braced for the worst. I'll climb to the lookout tower and scan the horizon. I'll wait to see what God says, how he'll answer my complaint.  2-3And then God answered: "Write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run. This message is a witness pointing to what's coming. It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait! And it doesn't lie. If it seems slow in coming, wait. It's on its way. It will come right on time.

In my reading this week, I came across this chapter in Habakkuk.  I'm sure you have heard this reference before:  Write the vision, make it plain.  I have read this passage many times & heard sermons preached on this subject, but it never meant much to me until this week.

Let me back up a little.  This whole undertaking we have going on here is making me reexamine everything that has to do with food.  In my effort to not follow a plan and simply trust in God, I feel totally lost and unsure of everything.  (I know, I know.  This is part of the process of giving up control & exactly how it should be right now.)  I have been hesitant to make any goals because I am so used to trusting in my goals & plans to fix me.

So you can imagine my confusion as I am reading Habakkuk & feel like God is telling me it is time to set some goals.  You know, He is probably right.  (insert winky smiley face here to denote sarcasm)  I have been thinking about this whole idea for the past 2 days and I honestly cannot say yet what my goals are.  I am going to pray about it for the next day or two and I encourage you to do the same. Bottom line:  It is time that we set some goals, write them down, and run with them.

In other news, God has done some pretty major things this week in my world.  It is completely crazy to see His hand at work in my life.  Ever since Monica & I started this blog, God has been moving in ways we could never imagine.  I am so thankful that I finally gave up & just obeyed God with this whole thing.  I am so excited to see what else lies ahead for all of us.  We are just getting started!

Love,
Celeste

  1. That is twice in the past 24 hours that I have read something that quoted that passage in Habakkuk. And Habakkuk is not actually a book well known to me. I wonder what God is telling me? Is it that I need to write down some goals too? I was hoping that I could just cheer you two on in your goals! (winky winky)

  2. Set some goals...put them in writing...I feel like a light bulb just went off for something God has been putting in my heart lately. I have some goals I need to put in writing...
